Joining a fraternity is definitely a fun experience but it also involves hard work and dedication. On February 2, 2019 , five members from the Texas Chi chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi showed their work and dedication to their chapter when they traveled to Dallas, Texas for the annual Carlson Leadership Conference. This conference was created to help SigEp’s all over the country become better leaders and give them tools to take back to their perspective chapters to increase the quality of fraternal life for members.
The five men who attended were Zachary Greene, VP of Member Development, Michael Lopez, VP of Communication, Joshua Bocanegra, VP of Programming, Will Gore, Finance Committee Member, and Kyle Walters, Recruitment Committee Member.
During their time there, they met brothers from all over the country and learned a lot insights on how to make the Texas Chi chapter better. Zachary Greene expressed his excitement to go back to Corpus with all his new ideas about development and brotherhood event ideas that he learned from the brothers from Oklahoma State.
Overall this trip was very successful and each brother learned useful information that they plan to implement as soon as possible. These men plan to go back to their chapter and tell their brothers all they have learned in hope that changes will begin to start making the Texas Chi chapter better.
